I was introduced to the concept of social presence while attending a conference on educational technology in 1994. 

The conference featured a speaker that illustrated how participant’s degrees of cognitive interconnections were increased through mediated environments.

I had to capture the humanized moment of enlightenment, as vendors demonstrated the capabilities of the online technology.
